John E. Ballas, CPM®
Managing Partner

Prior to the establishment of Ballas and Partners Management, Mr. Ballas was Director of Operations for Bowen Property Management. In that capacity Mr. Ballas was responsible for the supervision of the financial and operational performance of the properties in the Company’s portfolio. The portfolio consisted of market-rate and affordable apartments, luxury condominiums and senior independent retirement communities.

Mr.  Ballas joined BPMC in May of 1992 and brought with him 15 years of specialty big box and retail management experience. His multi-faceted management experience added to the depth of his knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the property management industry.

Mr. Ballas is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®) and is a Certified Property Manager (CPM®). He is also an affiliate member of the Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors; and holds a real estate brokerage license in both Oregon and Washington.

Susan Camarda-West, CMCA® AMS ® PCAM ®
Chief Operating Officer

As an Equity Partner of BPM, Susan is responsible for business development and company administration. Susan’s college background is in business and real estate. Before joining the partnership, Susan spent 15 years with Bowen Property Management where she oversaw a large portfolio that included a mix of homeowners associations, apartments and retail.

In 2006 Susan was given the responsibility of forming and building an HOA management division for Bowen. At that time she became and remains involved with CAI (Community Institute Association), where she holds her CMCA® (Certified Manager Community Association), AMS® (Association Management Specialist) and PCAM ® (Professional Community Association Manager) designations.

Mara Davis, CMCA® AMS ® CAMP ®
VP Operations

As an Equity Partner, Mara Davis is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the BPM portfolio, while managing a portfolio of her own. Mara spent 10+ years in retail management and customer service and then 7 years with Bowen Property Management prior to joining Ballas and Partners Management. Mara holds a real estate license in the State of Oregon and has her CMCA® (Certified Manager Community Association) and AMS® (Association Management Specialist) designations and is an active member of the Oregon Chapter of CAI. Mara was also one of the first to take and pass the CAMP® (Community Association Management Professional) certification with the Oregon Washington Community Association (OWCAM).

Kimberly Thorpe
Director of Accounting

Kimberly received her Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting from Maryville University St. Louis. Kimberly was a GL Accountant for Bowen Property Management for a little over three years before joining BPM as we branched off from Bowen to become our Accounting Manager. Prior to coming to work for Bowen Property Management, Kimberly worked in the investment and insurance industry for 5 years. Kimberly is working towards getting her CMA (Certified Managerial Accountant) license.

Eric Gordon
Eric Gordon
Director of Maintenance

Eric has over 16 years’ experience as a Community Manger and has recently joined the BPM staff.  Prior to joining BPM Eric has had tenures with two Portland HOA management company’s where he was an Executive Manager overseeing a team of 4 manager while having a portfolio of his own; and as a Senior Manager overseeing 7 managers and his own portfolio.   Eric has been a member of Community Association Institute (CAI) since 2002, obtaining a CMCA, AMS designations and is in the process of completing his PCAM designation.  Eric brings a combination of experience to this position, an experienced mangers eye as well as on-site maintenance in handling a number of construction defect cases and full restoration projects; this included project management of on-site vendors, contractors and dealing with the execution of maintenance plans.  Eric attended California State University at Long Beach studying Criminal Justice.

Julie Balestreri
Senior Portfolio Manager

Julie came to Ballas and Partners with over twelve years’ experience as a Community Manager in 2012. She has earned both her CMCA and her CAMP designations and is an active member of the Oregon Chapter of the Community Association Institute. She serves on both the events and personnel committee with CAI and was a member of the certification committee for Oregon Washington Community Association Managers (OWCAM). An Oregon State graduate, she serves as a board member for the Scottish Rite Children’s Speech Clinic, which works to ensure that pre-school children with speech disorders receive the help they need. Her pro-active management style and extensive knowledge of the community management field are valued by the associations she manages.

Erika Aleman
Portfolio Manager

Erika joined BPM is 2016 with previous HOA management experience in properties located both in Oregon and Washington. Erika has also worked in the public sector where she managed affordable communities. During her time in the public sector she also worked with the Urban Institute on a community project for the Latino youth in the New Columbia Area. Erika has experience working with land development companies, starting from the beginning of a development to the managing of the rentals. Erika has a high level of professionalism and customer service and is problem solving driven.

Ashley Holter
Portfolio Manager

Ashley has been in the property management industry for 8 years and certified in Community Association Management with a Bachelors in Business Management. Her experience with budgets, Head Editor for large financial and management reports, and project management on a cooperate and department level has helped her with her success in Association Management. She is detail and goal oriented, and ambitiously search for ways to improve herself and her team.
